Da'Bomb

Explosive Progression for the Modern Adventurer

Da'Bomb is a comprehensive expansion to Hytale's crafting and combat ecosystems. By anchoring explosive technology to the world's natural mineral progression, it offers players a sophisticated alternative to traditional mining and combat, turning every Alchemist's Workbench into a high-stakes munitions lab.

Core Philosophy

"Da'Bomb" is not just about destruction; it is about intentionality. It integrates seamlessly with Hytale's progression by tying explosive yield to metal rarities, creating a rewarding loop for miners and crafters alike.

Strategic Crafting & Balance

All explosives are manufactured at the Alchemist's Workbench.

  • High-Cost, High-Reward: Recipes are intentionally tuned to keep explosives tactical, not spammed.
  • Tiered Power: Bomb strength scales with metal rarity.

Primary ingot costs by tier:

  • Copper: 1
  • Iron: 2
  • Thorium: 3
  • Cobalt: 4
  • Adamantite: 5

Versatile Deployment Systems

  • Impact Delivery: Standard bombs provide instant devastation on contact.
  • Static Charges: Place bombs as stationary explosives; ignite manually, trigger by chain reaction, or detonate via arrow shot.

Environmental Interaction & Resource Recovery

  • Deforestation & Salvage: Tree blasts clear terrain while dropping usable wood and some charcoal.
  • Advanced Mining: Explosions clear large areas quickly; higher-tier bombs preserve more ore on average.

Tactical Land Mines (Proximity Charges)

  • Stick Pile Disguise: Mines appear as harmless stick piles.
  • Visual Tell: A subtle color-coded tip warns observant players.
  • Universal Triggers: Players and creatures can trigger mines.
  • Chain Reaction Logic: Mines can be linked into larger chained detonations.

Current behavior: armed mines trigger at very close range (step-on/near, ~1 block) and detonate quickly after trigger (~0.5 seconds).

Quick Start

  1. Craft bombs or mines at the Alchemist's Workbench.
  2. Throw bombs for immediate impact, or place charges for traps and chain reactions.
  3. For mines, let them arm first, then use terrain and line-of-sight to create ambushes.

Installation

  1. Download the latest Da' Bomb jar from the mod page.
  2. Place it in your Hytale mods folder.
  3. Restart Hytale.
